The 10 Best Meeting Rooms for Hire in Toronto

People from outside Canada often overlook the sheer scale of Toronto, a city that’s actually the fourth largest in the whole of North America, after Mexico City, New York and LA. And the 2.8 million population that puts it in that position is only part of the story. The Greater Toronto area is home to 6.7 million, and the “Golden Horseshoe” that wraps around the west of Lake Ontario all the way to Niagara Falls has almost 10 million people living in it, including all those Torontonians.

With great size comes great business opportunity, so it’s no wonder that Toronto is a thriving, diverse and culturally impressive city. As well as being the centre of gravity of Ontario, it’s also in easy reach of the US states of Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York, and Canada’s administrative capital Ottawa is about 200km to the east – a stone’s throw in this vast country.

So if you’re looking for Toronto meeting rooms, there’s naturally a superb choice of locations and building types to choose from. Here are some of the highlights.

First Canadian Place

The tallest building in Canada seems like a pretty good place to start. And we don’t mind being pedantic here – CN Tower is a structure, but not technically a building. So apart from knowing you’re in an impressive skyscraper, what else does Toronto First Canadian Place have to offer? Well, the building complex itself is home to dozens of shops and restaurants, and it’s right in the heart of the city’s business district. These downtown Toronto meeting rooms boast business lounges and break-out areas, plus sandwich service for when the meeting is more important than the foodie heaven down below.

Spaces Yorkville

From the dizzying heights, we head to somewhere low-rise – Spaces Yorkville. This is central Toronto’s leafiest, most exclusive district, where business, high-class retail, restaurants and residential properties rub shoulders in perfect harmony. Spaces Yorkville is perfect for entertaining your coolest client, its boutique demeanour sparking creativity in anyone who enters. There’s an on-site restaurant to complement the local treasures and even an outside terrace that’s just perfect on a summer’s day.

Woodbine Steeles Corporate Centre

On a budget? Woodbine Steeles Corporate Centre is in the Markham district of Toronto up in the North East of the city. This part of town is dominated by the trading estate, with rows of business service properties but surrounded by suburban low-rise residential streets. This location is very handy for Highways 404, 401 and 407, the three main routes that link Toronto with the rest of Canada, but because it’s just out of the city centre, you can hire a meeting room for a few dollars an hour. On-site, you’ll find ample parking, break-out areas and a cafe, and the rooms are spacious and light, perfect for business.

Spaces Bay Street

If you don’t mind spending a little extra for a prime location, Spaces Bay Street, home to the Royal Bank of Canada, could be what you’re looking for. Situated in a stunning skyscraper right across the road from Union Station transport hub, it’s a buzzing place to do business. The tower itself is triangular in footprint, and the office spaces are on floors 12, 13 and 14, so you’ll get great views of life going on below you when you take in the vista. You’re right in the heart of things here, but on-site you’ll find break-out areas and a whole range of office sizes to choose from.

Waterpark Place

Waterpark Place is located down near the Harbourfront area, a built-up part of town next to Inner Harbour, which feeds off Lake Ontario. The area is mainly business oriented, but there are hotels, restaurants and cafes in the neighbourhood, perfect for before and after the meeting. You might even want to treat your team to a short boat trip to Centre Island, for some of the best views of the city skyline imaginable. The building itself has everything you could dream of, from gym and showers to on-site restaurant and sandwich bar. You’ll be on the 25th floor, so expect grand views of the city or the lake and harbour.

Spaces The Permanent

We’re right in the middle of the city again, this time in “Spaces The Permanent”, a modern, well appointed office space that’s designed for business. You’re surrounded by Toronto’s financial district – banks, insurance and so on – and your neighbour is First Canadian Place, which we mentioned earlier. It’s a cool, chic building with exposed pipework and plenty of light (you know the deal), so is a great place to meet a client from any industry, although if they’re in banking they’ll probably be no more than a couple of blocks away.

Liberty Village Business Center

One of Toronto’s oldest neighbourhoods, Liberty Village has a fashionable metropolitan vibe to it, with bars, restaurants and clubs that are popular with the younger residents. It’s known for being a creative hub too, with plenty of designers, architects and marketing agencies setting up shop there. Naturally, this office space has a low key, bohemian feel to it, and it’s based in a beautiful brick low-rise that’s a breeze to reach. Inside, there are break-out areas and a business lounge, and if you’re lucky your meeting will coincide with a football or rugby league match at the stadium across the park.

Spaces Liberty Village

A more modern meeting room option in Liberty Village is the Spaces property on Atlantic Avenue. It’s on the fourth floor of a seven-storey block, with generous glass frontage and a contemporary interior. There’s an outdoor terrace to take advantage of, and inside you’ll find showers, break-out rooms, and spacious, comfortable and light-filled places to talk business.

Yonge and Richmond Centre

Located on the junction of Yonge Street and Richmond Street East, perfectly placed among tower blocks, offices, bars and restaurants, this centre is a no-nonsense space to get together with clients or team-mates and thrash out a deal or plan your next sales drive. Inside, you’ll find a gym, sandwich bar and food deliveries, as well as business lounge and break-out areas to gather your thoughts or take a discussion away from the main meeting. Well placed in Old Toronto, it’s easy to reach, too.

Spaces The Junction

Finally, we bring you Spaces The Junction. It’s over to the west of the city centre, an area of urban streets, small businesses and residential avenues. It used to be an industrial heartland, around the junction of two main railroads, but it is now being reclaimed as a hub where startups take their first steps on the ladder and creatives ply their trade. This particular building is an ex-warehouse (complete with outdoor silo attached), which is a thriving flexible work space that’s really creating a buzz. Expect modern, cool interiors and refreshingly open meeting spaces and break-out areas in this up-and-coming district. They’re handy meeting rooms for Toronto Airport, too, which might be useful.
