The best meeting rooms for hire in Leeds

Leeds is a great city in West Yorkshire, the largest city in all the Yorkshires and the fifth most populous in the whole of the UK. It’s right in the middle of northern England, with the North Sea and the Irish Sea about 100km to the east and west, respectively. That makes it perfect for connections with Newcastle, Hull, Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield, and there are great motorway and rail links with London and Edinburgh, too. Leeds Bradford International Airport is just a little over 10km from the city, connecting it to the world.

In a way, Leeds keeps its head down and gets on with business, compared with many of the other UK cities that like to shout about their achievements. But that doesn’t make it any less of a desirable place. It’s home to a huge university and industrial sector, but it’s also known as the North’s centre for banking and finance – First Direct and Yorkshire Bank are both headquartered here.

In short, if you’re in the North of England and are looking for meeting rooms, you can’t really go wrong with Leeds. Here are some of the best meeting rooms Leeds has to offer.

The Pinnacle

As cities go, Leeds isn’t really known for its high-rise buildings, although that is slowly changing, and The Pinnacle is up there, towering 80 metres and affording great views over the city and the countryside beyond. Locals might remember it as West Riding House, which was its name before it underwent extensive refurbishment in the early 2000s. It’s now ultra-modern and stylish, with all the modern amenities and connectivity you’d expect of a city-centre office building.

The office and meeting spaces you can hire by the hour are on the 15th to the 18th floors, and there’s always a proper feeling of people getting stuff done when you’re walking the corridors or taking coffee in one of the breakout areas. It’s handy for the station, but unusually for the city centre, it also has its own car park – ask about parking if you’re interested in hiring a meeting room here.

Spaces Park Row

This is without doubt one of the most prestigious serviced offices Leeds city centre has, and when we say city centre, we don’t think we could mean that any more literally. It’s about 2-minute walk from Leeds Station, so train travel is a doddle if you’re meeting up with people from around the country. It’s also just around the corner from The Headrow, one of Leeds’s main shopping streets, with dozens of retail opportunities and a real buzz throughout the day.

Spaces Park Row has an onsite sandwich and coffee bar, plus breakout areas for informal chats away from the meeting. And if you’re arriving by bike, there’s storage for it, as well as those all-important showers.

Princes Exchange

As you might guess from the LS1 postcode, Princes Exchange is another building that’s perfectly placed for talking business in the heart of Leeds. And while the offices above can boast about their proximity to the station, Princes Exchange takes the crown – it’s literally across the road from the north entrance. If you’re expecting guests after a long train journey, a meeting room near Leeds train station is exactly what you need.

The building itself is truly striking. Built in 2001, it stands 50m tall and has a unique triangular footprint, with glass covering every square foot of facade and staircase. If you want to create a wow with a client, this is definitely one of the meeting rooms in Leeds with a wow factor. You’ll also find breakout areas, sandwich delivery and secure underground parking.

Wellington Place

Wellington Place is an 8-minute walk from the station on the west of the city centre, and it’s a modern red brick building with a round front that curves along the equally round street of the same name. It always feels light and airy inside, and because it’s not in the main shopping area, it feels a little more businesslike than some of the others, and the whole area is a little quieter, with less traffic.

As for facilities, there’s a plush business lounge and breakout areas, and some handy showers, particularly welcome after a long journey (or a long meeting!). There are well-stocked vending machines for snacks and drinks, and  also a sandwich service to give the meeting a little extra.

Leeds City West Business Park

If you’re not particularly eager for a city centre meeting room in Leeds, but want to be in the city, you might consider hiring a meeting room at Leeds City West Business Park. It’s right over on the west of the city, just before the urban environment starts turning to fields and farmland – in fact, it’s technically in Holbeck. If you’re entertaining clients, it might interest you that it’s right next to Eland Road, home to Leeds United FC.

Motorway connectivity is this location’s trump card, however. It’s right off the M621, making it easy to reach by car via the M1 and M62, as well as the A647 from Bradford. In the complex, there are sandwiches, showers and breakout areas, so you and your guests can be relaxed and comfortable as you get down to business.

Bradford, Shipley

You might also be looking for meeting rooms in Bradford, the city neighbouring Leeds to the west, in which case this meeting space in Shipley is absolutely perfect, and great value too. The building started life as a cloth mill during the Industrial Revolution, but it has now been completely modernised and has given the whole area a new lease of life. It’s located between the River Aire and the Leeds Liverpool Canal, although we’d recommend you arrive by car or train – Shipley Station is just across the bridge. It’s also really handy for Leeds Bradford Airport.

There’s plenty of parking, and bicycle storage, which is always great. This place has breakout areas and even some outdoor terraces, which are great places to relax and chat on a fine day.
